About the Journal

ECOIMPACT: Journal of Economic Sustainability, Digital Business, and Creative Industries is a peer-reviewed and open-access academic journal in collaboration with with the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang and published by Ecobusiness Transformation and Sustainability (ETS), that publishes high-quality research in the fields of economic sustainability, digital business transformation, and creative industries. The journal aims to serve as a platform for scholars, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to disseminate innovative ideas, empirical findings, and theoretical contributions that address contemporary economic challenges in both developing and developed economies.

ECOIMPACT emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches and encourages research that integrates economics, digital innovation, sustainability practices, and creative sector development. The journal particularly welcomes studies that explore the intersection between sustainability and digitalization, as well as the role of creative industries in fostering inclusive and resilient economic growth.

The journal publishes original research articles that demonstrate strong methodological rigor, theoretical contribution, and practical relevance. Manuscripts should provide novelty and contribute to advancing knowledge in areas such as sustainable finance, green economy, digital entrepreneurship, platform economy, innovation systems, and creative economic development. ECOIMPACT does not publish purely descriptive studies, book reviews, or critical reviews without substantial analytical contribution.

ECOIMPACT focuses on research topics including, but not limited to:

  • Green economy and environmental economics
  • Digital business, e-commerce, and fintech
  • Innovation, technology adoption, and digital transformation
  • Creative industries and cultural economy
  • Entrepreneurship and SMEs development
  • Behavioral economics in digital and creative sectors
  • Public policy and governance in sustainability and digital economy
  • Regional and global economic development related to sustainability and innovation

The journal welcomes quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method approaches, as well as theoretical and empirical studies that provide meaningful insights into current economic phenomena.

Publication Ethics

ECOIMPACT is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines. All parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, and publisher—are expected to adhere to ethical standards, including:

  • Originality and plagiarism avoidance
  • Transparency in data and research methods
  • Proper acknowledgment of sources
  • Disclosure of conflicts of interest
  • Confidentiality in the review process

Any form of unethical behavior, including plagiarism, data fabrication, or duplicate publication, will not be tolerated and will be handled according to established ethical procedures.

Open Access Policy

ECOIMPACT provides immediate open access to all published content, supporting the global exchange of knowledge. Users are free to read, download, copy, distribute, and share articles without prior permission, provided proper attribution is given to the original authors and the journal.

Copyright and License

Authors retain copyright of their work and grant the journal the right of first publication. All articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA) license, allowing others to use and adapt the work with proper attribution.

Publication Frequency

ECOIMPACT is published three issues per year (May, September,  and December), with a commitment to timely dissemination of research findings.
